Over 45 Years of Carpentry and Construction Experience and Client Service in Greater Boston
In 1960, Kenneth Leitner Sr. took a job with the Epifano Development Corporation in Wellesley, MA. Over the course of the next five years, Kenneth was taught the carpentry trade from master carpenter Silvio Epifano. As part of a team that developed the Cliff Estates in Wellesley, MA, Ken would be on the job site from the digging of the foundation all the way through to the completion of a new house. During this five year period, with Sil’s training and Ken’s constant quest for carpentry knowledge and skill, Ken developed into a master carpenter and one of the most knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen in the area. In 1965 Ken left Epifano Development Corporation and started Leitner Construction.
All work for Leitner Construction came from word of mouth due to Ken’s impeccable reputation as a carpenter and a business man. In this time period, whether he had one employee or six, Ken took on jobs as small as a new door and as big as the original building at Russo’s Fruit in Watertown. Ken also set some precedents that remain with the company today: Ken, as the owner, was always on the job and dealt directly with the customers, never left a job until it was one hundred percent perfect, and was always very fair with pricing. In 1990, upon graduating from college, Ken’s son John joined Leitner Construction. Like his father before him, John spent the next five years just learning the carpentry trade. Over time, John gradually started taking on more of the responsibilities of the business, and in 1999 he took over the company. This allowed his father to work as a carpenter without the responsibilities of running the company, something he enjoyed tremendously. In May of 2011, Kenneth Leitner passed away, but he has always been and always will be the corner stone of Leitner Construction. Today, John Leitner runs Leitner Brothers Construction with the same principles his father instilled in him and in the company.
Leitner Brothers prides itself on employing professional licensed and insured carpenters with a vested interest in the company. Unlike many construction companies, our work is never contracted out to subcontractors.
John Leitner, owner of Leitner Brothers, has been in the carpentry business for over 20 years. John and his team specialize in home additions, bathroom and kitchen renovations, dormers, porches, framing, finish and front/back entry doors.
